Location

This resort is located on Pangkor Laut, a privately owned island three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia in the exotic straits of Malacca. All structural designs on the island are based on traditional Malay architecture. The 300 acre island is an unspoilt paradise covered with a two million year old tropical rainforest and is surrounded by beautiful beaches with an emerald sea. Temperatures range from 28C to 30C for a perfect climate year-round.

There are 148 luxurious villas and suites, with a choice of 5 different villa styles:

• Garden Villas (in a block of 4 and set closest to the main facilities)

• Beach Villas (semi detached and clustered around the tropical gardens close to the beach and have private outdoor courtyard bath)

You can chose from a delightful dining experience of authentic Malay to traditional Chinese cuisine at a range of superb restaurants and bars. Sample Malay dishes at The Samudra, with a breathtaking view overlooking the sea, home-style Chinese cooking at Uncle Lim’s kitchen, or fresh fish at the Fisherman’s cove. Or enjoy a sunset dinner at sea aboard the Resort’s tongkang style teak wood boat. The boat will anchor at Emerald bay at sunset before sailing off to a quiet cove for a four-course dinner.

Signature Treatment

Tradtional Malay Massage.  Passed on from generation to generation this traditional masage technique consists of long kneading strokes that focus on releasing tension in muscles and tissues on the body. This treatment uses oil made with special local ingredients such as turmeric, cinnamon, garlic, onion and citronella, that invigorate circulation.

We Love

• Before each treatment you are invited to take the complimentary unique Bath House Ritual - starting with a footbath and invigorating traditional Chinese Foot Pounding, then a traditional Malay 'circulating' bath with Japanese-styel cleansing followed by a dip in the heated Rotenburu pool.  From therea gentle exfoliation with their signature Shanghai Scrub, followed by a calming tea in the spa pavilion.  Now you are all set for your spa treatment!
